A day in Gastown

you wouldn’t want to miss gastwon if you live in vancouver

for both great food and cool places to shop

there are two stores here i like the most so far

(exclude the vintages stores, they worth a whole another post just for them)

i bet you are all ready familiar with RODEN GRAY

they got many ALEXANDER WANG (yay!!) and ACNE

and many of my guy friends like the COMME DES GARCONS collection downstairs

i enjoy spned time here even their girls section is very small

another one is LYNNsteven

its famous “book fitting room” is a two-time architecture award winner

you can find great deals when there is a sale going on

inside the fittting room, it really is made of books

this is what i got from LYNNsteven that day

bell-bottoms and small floral print

it was since this spring that the 70′s bell-bottoms had made a come back

the bell-bottom jeans surely make perfect shape for your legs

but these giant silky bell-bottoms with small floral print are just adorable

the pant legs are so loose and wide, each of them is like a big skirt

somehow i thought that my little fringe bag might go perfectly with them

i love these cute little details, make the pants more retro

and make me not want to wear a belt to block it

High Tea at THE URBAN TEA MERCHANT

if you got some time to kill on a sunday afternoon and you are a girl
i bet you wouldn’t say no to high tea
it doesn’t have to be a sunny day, all you need is an empty stomach
THE URBAN TEA MERCHANT is not like the conventional afternoon tea places in fancy hotels
you would think it is a tea store if you pass by it on the street
it sells tea, art and tea equipment in the front area of the store

me and my friend ordered the Westcoast Afternoon Tea starting with a strawberry sorbet

my mom had the Petite Afternoon Tea which is the only item on the menu that they could make vegetarian

it started with a mango sorbet

what in the champagne glass is actually a cold non-alcohol non-sparking tea drink
i think it is the high light of all dishes
it was served before the sorbet for everyone
i would go there again for this refresh champagne-like tea drink only

there is no tea bag or loose tea leaves in the tea pot which means you don’t get any refills

they do that to make sure every cup of tea we taste has the perfect falvor

but if you want more after finishing it and don’t want to order another one

they usually give away free tea samples

the vegetarian version of the Petite Afternoon Tea

a very good size for one

the “BC style” Westcoast Afternoon Tea(minimum order of 2 persons)
a platter of open-face sandwiches(mostly seafood) and sweets

this is where you shop for tea, art & photography, home decor and tea equipment

look what i found… the famous Chinese purple clay teapot

even though the whole theme of the store is more Japanese

this is their huge selection of tea

the manager led me climb on the ledder and took a picture on it after knowing

i would be writing about the store in my blog

the corridor led you to the tea room from the shop area

the display window facing the street

they also have a kimono hanging there which is the reason that this place firstly caught my eye

i dressed pretty casual and also colorful that day

i just cannot color block enough this summer

i think i will keep doing it till it completely goes out of fashion

i always like to balance a sexy/feminine skirt/dress with a boyfriend shirt

wearing the whole outfit in one style is my least favorite technique

i love doing contradictions

to me a perfect outfit has to involve putting contradictory items together and still being stylish

vintage shopping day on MAIN st.

he came to help fix my router that day

and i got myself a quick photo shoot

LUCKY ME

we actually knew each other from the night club where he works

he knows how to create a backgroud from ordinary surroundings

thanks kuna for both the router and pictures

i don’t wear this CHANEL scarf a lot

cause i thought it might be better for me after i start to work or turn a little older

now i found it is perfect as a headscraf that i can wear with lots of outfits

it was a gift from someone special

i love love this little transparent box from ASOS

i’ve always wanted a transparent clutch

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA got a very nice one

even though the transparent bags from PRADA and CHANEL are all very pretty

i just think that as a clutch it is more fun and more elegant at the same time

if you ever want to go vintage shopping in vancouver

Main street is the place

there are many vintage clothing stores and vintage furniture stores on Main

most of them are between E.12 ave and E.33 ave

this one i went that day is located at the corner near E.5th ave

the owner is a local designer and she actually makes most of the clothes in her studio which is at the back of the store

there is just a glass wall seperating the store and her studio you can see right through

there are also some clothes accessories bags from other local designers

all the clothes she makes are made from recycled fabric not necessarily clothes

so you may find clothes with very current style but vintage fabric and retro pattern

i forgot the name of the store but it says “fashion recycled” somewhere near the door

super cool!

i got one of these bows

they are hair clips and are made from vintage scarfs

i got this vintage dress for only $38

it’s not made by the owner it’s one of the vintage clothes she got from somewhere else

but she makes changes to most vintage pieces

so they fit better as many of them are usually too large

those clothes made by her from recycled material are a little bit more expensive than the vintage pieces

these two photos below were shot at my apartment

kuna thinks there are many spots at my place that are good for photo shoot

he took these two just to see how the background, lighting would come out

and all others were shot near my apartment

北温有个可爱的小海湾deep cove

有什么比大好天离开城市到风景好的地方透个气更好的

很多人会来这里玩canoe

这些小船和他们的衣服在这副蓝天碧水中加入了好多活力和色彩

看起来全世界都在撞色

在大白天我能get my ass out of my house就是个胜利了

不做运动的我能进行些日光活动，在大自然走走我就很佩服自己了

这件top其实很短刚好到裤腰这

半截小背心的款很retro 配长裙也会很好

背部的镂空不知道为什么传递的不是性感，而也是复古感

可能因为像古代欧洲女人的束胸把

它是鸬鹚吗？

停在那一动不动好久，好多人端着大相机对着它拍

狗狗用坐姿在make a statement，我是家庭成员

再来就是deep cove走向海滩那条路上的可爱小店

有童趣的东西总是惹人爱

我买了这个蓝色的大象杯垫准备送给爱看卡通，喜欢玩具、娃娃的我妈

离开了deep cove到了downtown很火的拉面,火头山

实惠好吃值得排长队

套餐有拉面配盖饭虽然搞不懂为什么两个都主食类

但饿的时候饱足感满分

套餐的汤头有酱油、salt n pepper和辣miso三种

盖饭有三文鱼、三文鱼卵和猪肉还是鸡肉三种

这是酱油汤头和三文鱼盖饭

配上冰啤酒大快朵颐还是挺美的

其实这时候已经8点多了

温哥华的夏天因为天黑的晚时间很好利用

3，4点出门还可以过长长的一天

就是早晚比较凉

逛个有机食物的超市宣告一天日光活动的结束

那天逛街我穿的这双平底鞋
停下拍照时才换上晚上要穿的像清朝娘娘穿的大wedges

做这图的过程我都还一直在欣赏这ALEXANDER WANG的手腕包”JADE”

有点像个小保险箱！

有棱有角方方正正全中我的口味

其实它表面是白珍珠鱼皮

四周是白厚绒布

一直都很着迷同色不同质料的搭配法
惊艳那些模特们可以一身黑却用雪纺、绵、亮皮不同质料碰撞出的感觉

工装外套就两个字百搭
当我懒得想或来不及想今天穿哪件外套的时候
它都永远不掉链子

很心爱的一串FALLON项链，暗沉的金色，亮亮的水钻，浅浅的绿松石，突兀的造型

冲突感“不搭调”的东西总是特别入我的眼

有时候戴着戴着那些小刺会转向脖子

我都说我是冒随时被杀死的风险在戴它

耳环是来自vancouver flea market的旧货，才5块加币

有点星空有点扎染的背心

这是今夏撞色大热以来我最大胆的一身

觉得自己像个大棒棒糖，小朋友缘应该不错

这也是我头回用我的新PS包

本来应该一身素色好好体现它独特的绿色

独特因为它又是嫩绿色又有一丝陈旧感

同款的黑色、土耳其蓝也非常美

西装里面的二手衣搭上这副存在感很强的耳环

虽然有too much的嫌疑

可也不想戴项链来抢这件古董衣的镜了

所以就选了这副显眼的耳环

右边是我的好友兼邻居小草

她这一身我都好爱，特别是凉鞋和皮带

可惜那天我们赶着逛街不记得给她拍几张细节图
